Create Valuable Website Content to Attract Visitors

The most important thing can do on any website is create valuable website content for your website’s visitors! Content can be anything from articles to videos to podcasts. Good content is the main thing that will make your website attract visitors, get repeat visits, and is a key ingredient in the overall successful of your website. Make sure your content is original and valuable content. If your content is not original…your site may get banned from the search engines. And if your content isn’t providing any value to your readers…they won’t be back.

Valuable content can be any type of content that helps, teaches, or entertains people. It should give your website visitors the information they want when they come to your website. People are using their precious time to look at your website and you need to have good material for them; that is, if you want them to come back. I know this may seem obvious but I have seen so many people on the internet who think producing a ton of content is better than producing "quality content." This is absolutely not the case if you want to succeed. No one will come back to your website if they don't receive some benefit from reading your articles (and that could be anything from knowledge to enjoyment).

In fact, I have created several niche websites with only about 10 articles on them and I’ve sold those websites for many thousands of dollars. If you’re asking why and how…well it all comes down to…are you attracting and retaining good targeted traffic (along with whether or not your website is in a good niche). And for every small but profitable website I have built…the answer is yes. And one of the main reasons is because I created great content that was original.

Another benefit when you create valuable website content is it makes visitors want to share, bookmark, and link to your posts. When I installed Facebook “like” buttons on a couple of my websites along with bookmarking tools…it double my traffic in a matter of weeks. However, this wouldn’t be possible if the content was bad or unoriginal because nobody would “like,” share it, or bookmark it.

Moreover, if you are writing an article based website or a blog, pretend you are writing your articles for a prominent magazine or for a book to make sure it is high quality. If you wouldn't be proud of your article in a magazine then don't place it on your website because you tarnish your website when you place sub-par material on it.

Also, don’t just talk about yourself on your website or blog. Unless you are a famous person…I hate to break it to you but people really don’t care ;). Although, there are successful websites and blogs on the internet that are exceptions to this, you are much more likely to attract and retain visitors if you write about topics related to the niche your website is in. On the other hand, I encourage you to talk about your experiences if they are related to your niche. This shows people in your niche you can relate to them and it helps form a connection with the reader…just don’t talk about what you had for lunch that day.

So just remember:

1. Create valuable website content that gives your reader some sort of benefit
2. Create content that your readers want and are looking for when they come to your website
